3D Dirac semimetals supported tunable terahertz BIC metamaterials

Abstract Based on the 3D Dirac semimetals (DSM) supported tilted double elliptical resonators, tunable propagation properties of quasi-bound in continuum (BIC) resonance have been investigated THz regime, including effects rotation angles, DSM Fermi level, and configuration resonators. The results manifest that by altering angle resonator, an obvious sharp BIC transmission dip is observed with Q -factor more than 60. level affects significantly, a resonant if larger 0.05 eV, resulting from contributions reflection absorption. If changes range 0.01–0.15 amplitude frequency modulation depths are 92.75 44.99%, respectively. Additionally, modified configurations e.g. inserting dielectric hole into another excited indicates red shift increase permittivity filling material. very helpful to understand mechanisms plasmonic structures develop novel devices, such as modulators, filters, sensors future.

Highly tunable optical activity in planar achiral terahertz metamaterials.

Using terahertz time domain spectroscopy we demonstrate tunable polarization rotation and circular dichroism in intrinsically non-chiral planar terahertz metamaterials without twofold rotational symmetry.
